Thursday, January 21, 2010 08:45 - On January 21, 2010 at 0845 hours, Companies 67 (Woodlyn), 12 (Eddystone), 18 (Folsom), 49 (Milmont), and 70 (Leedom) were dispatched to 1852 Toth Drive for a building fire reported in the basement. Under the command of Lieutenant Sean Dougherty, Tower 49 responded and was instructed by 67-9 to stage in the front of the residence with forcible entry tools. Engine 12-1 pulled a 1 3/4 inch attack line and knocked down the fire in the basement. Crews began to ventilate the house and overhaul the damaged contents from the basement.
As Tower 49 was still on location at Toth Drive, Station 49 was dispatched to the intersection of MacDade Boulevard and Virginia Avenue for a vehicle accident with fuel on the highway. Under the command of Assistant Chief Joe Maginnis Engine 49-2 responded. Before on location, police cancelled the fire company because of no fluid on the highway.
Company was in service one hour and forty-five minutes.
