As more snow entered the area, the Milmont Firefighters were prepared for its arrival. Crews staffed the firehouse throughout the entire storm. The second wave of snow brought 25 inches on the area. Milmont ran several calls through the storm. The first call came in just before the storm, when the Tower headed to Folsom for a building fire. Tower 49 responded under the command of Chief Burke, and was recalled while in route. Soon after the storm struck, Engine 49 was dispatched to the area of Michigan and Girard for a report of a a tree on wires burning. Engine 49 responded within minutes, and found a tree down across the wires. PECO was notified and arrived within 20 minutes. Later that night, tones dropped for a building fire in the 200 block of Haverford Rd. Engine 8 was in route to a call in Crum Lynne and redirected to the building fire. Upon arrival they found a small kitchen fire. Tower 49 arrived and assisted Engine 8 with salvage and overhaul. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour and a half before returning.
