| Adopt a Hydrant |
Thursday, February 25, 2010 -
The 2010 winter has proven to be one for the record books. Our 3rd major storm this month is breathing down our necks. Forecasters are calling for another 6-10 inches to fall on the Delaware Valley. Residents are asked to help the fire company in cleaning out fire hydrants. The Adopt a Hydrant program, is for those residents who live near or next to fire hydrants are asked to help us in shoveling out the hydrants. Though this may be more work to add to your snow shoveling, it would greatly assist the fire departments with quick and easy access to the hydrants. In our business, time is VERY critical. Firefighter might not have 5 minutes to clean out fire hydrants when we respond to a house fire. We ask any and all residents to assist us during our 3rd major snow fall. Milmont will have a crew on stand by if the snow gets any worse, to ensure quick and ready response times.
