Saturday, December 24, 2011 23:28      At 11:28 pm on Christmas Eve the 49ers were called to the 200 block of West 7th Ave. for a chimney fire. 49-7, on duty crew, arrived on location with no injuries but did report visible fire coming out from the top of a rear chimney . The initial fire was suppressed by the resident but there was water and smoke damage inside the home. Under the direction of 49-9  firefighters from companies 18 (Folsom), 43 (Holmes), 62 (Vauclain) assisted 49 with further suppression and checked for extension. Crews remained on location for approximately 30 minutes. Medic Ridley 7 was also on location but thankfully their services were not needed.
